Green Tea

Green Tea - This is a preparation of 'normal' tea which has health giving properties. Its reputation is of benefiting health generally & in particular have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties

The name comes from the fact that the young tea leaves, which have been tightly rolled, look just like gunpowder shot. When you pour the water over the leaves, watch them unfurl dramatically to give a light pale straw coloured liquor with a fresh flavour.

Sencha is a classic green tea grown in Japan and Indonesia. Almost immediately after plucking the leaves are steamed for about 30 seconds to seal in the flavour, followed by drying and rolling, and then enhanced with the light delicate aroma of maraschino cherries.
